Oh, metaphors! Today, we talked about metaphors---a metaphor is the comparison of two things WITHOUT using the words "like" or "as." Basically, you're saying that something IS/WAS something else. For example, Grandpa was a bear when he woke up from his nap--that doesn't mean that Grandpa woke up with fur and claws. It just means he was grumpy, or angry, or even just crabby! Here is your homework:
Periods 3/4 and 8/9: Complete both sides of the metaphor worksheet. Then in your Vocab Workbook, complete Synonyms #2, 5-6, and 9 and Antonyms #3-4, and Completing the Sentence #1, 4, 6-9, 11, 16, 19-20 on pages 38-40.
Period 7: Complete both sides of the metaphor worksheet.
