Here is your homework:

Be sure to look at the two padlets we completed in class for ideas! Also, write one sentence for each vocabulary word for Chapters 1-8--the definitions for these are in your packet! Scholastic Orders are due on Friday! Be sure to get your orders in soon! :-) There is no homework this weekend! Quiz scores are posted on Skyward! See you on Monday! :-)
Today was a project work day for your Highwayman projects (click HERE for project information). Remember, these are due at the BEGINNING of class tomorrow--you will NOT be getting class time to work on them. Here is your homework:
Periods 3/4 and 8/9: Write one sentence for each of your 5B vocabulary words. Remember, you have a quiz on Vocab unit 5 tomorrow. Also, if you did not finish your Highwayman project in class today, finishing it is homework. Period 7: Finish your Highwayman project, if you did not finish it in class. All Periods: You have a quiz on "The Highwayman" tomorrow! Alfred Noyes definitely used a lot of similes and metaphors in his poem, "The Highwayman." Today, you had class time to finish your packet for "The Highwayman," and all of you SHOULD have finished. If you did not, it became homework. We also introduced our project choices for the poem. Click HERE if you want to see the project choices. Here is your homework:
Periods 3/4 and 8/9: Complete your Highwayman packet (although this SHOULD be completed already!). In your vocabulary workbook, please complete #3-4, 7-8, 10-12, 17, and 19-20 on pages 67-68 (Completing the Sentence). Period 7: Complete your Highwayman packet (although this SHOULD be completed). All Periods: Make sure you bring any necessary materials for your project choice so you can work on it in class tomorrow. That especially means that if you chose to do the billboard, you need a posterboard. I think it was definitely a good exercise to summarize the poem today--hopefully you all now know the full story of "The Highwayman"--as dramatic and tragic as it is! Here is your homework:
Periods 3/4 and 8/9: Finish the comprehension questions in your Highwayman packet. Remember to use COMPLETE sentences or you will lose points. Also, in your vocab workbook on pages 66-67, complete Synonyms #1-4 and Antonyms #1-2, 4 and complete page 69 ALL. Period 7: Finish the comprehension questions in your Highwayman packet. Remember to use COMPLETE sentences or you will lose points. Do not move on to the simile/metaphor pages in your packet. Today's lesson was a classic--we read the poem, "The Highwayman" by Alfred Toyes. This poem is a narrative poem--so it has a storyline that is easily followed (as sad as it was!). Here is your homework:
Periods 3/4 and 8/9: In your Vocabulary Workbook, complete "Choosing the Right Word" on pages 65-66--ALL. Period 7: Write one sentence for each vocabulary word from your "Highwayman" packet--and then find three more words from the poem that are unfamiliar to you. You should look those three words up and then use THEM in sentences as well. In total, you should have 13 sentences. |
